St Olavsloppet is a running festival which starts in Östersund, Sweden, and finishes in the Norwegian city of Trondheim. The track follows the road between Östersund by Lake Storsjön in Jämtland, and Trondheim by the Atlantic coast The track follows St Olavsleden, the route taken by the pilgrims to the Nidaros Cathedral in the Middle Ages.
It runs across the border mountains between Norway and Sweden and through reindeer grazing areas in magnificent natural surroundings. Overnight stops are in Åre, Sweden’s most famous skiresort and at Levanger, which is situated by the Trondheimsfjord. St Olavsloppet represents a continuation of the cultural and historical links between Trøndelag and Jämtland.
St Olavsloppet was established 1988, and is the largest relay competition in Scandinavia. St Olavsloppet includes a childrens run, Ultra-run, four-day-relay and one-day-relay. The total distance of the four-day-relay is 338,9 km. Join us and be part of the excitement, the joy, the friendship and the nature. Everybody can join a team, no matter age or strength. The relay race is suited for the jogger that just want to keep in shape, run a few miles just to have fun and the competition runner who competes against others and himself/herself, and of course everybody in between.
